Plano, TX, June 4, 2013 – Hudson Alley Software announced today that it has opened an office in Plano Texas. “With the successful launch of OnePlace; Hudson Alley’s new subscription based sales force automation software platform and with several additional revenue enhancing products in development; we decided that it was time to open an office devoted strictly to software design and development,” said Jeff Ogata, Hudson Alley’s Chief Software Architect. He explained further that the move to Plano was intended to remove the development staff from the distraction of sharing quarters with the Hudson Alley operations staff; to relocate to a calmer environment than New York City and to provide opportunity to computer science graduates in the greater Dallas area.

“We are currently hard at work staffing our new office with talented software engineers,” said Adam Perlow, CEO of Hudson Alley Software. “We have designed new software platforms that will dramatically increase the bottom line of Lottery organizations world wide and we have a two year window in which to get them built, tested and deployed. We have high hopes and expectations that our Plano office will succeed in its mission to deliver our new software applications in ship shape order and on time.”

May 24th, 2013 marked the 40th anniversary of the first Lottery drawing in the state of Maryland, which occurred at Hopkins Plaza. At the time, tickets were only 50 cents.

The new software will replace the OrderPad for Lotteries software that the Georgia Lottery’s sales team has used since 2006.

OnePlace offers two user experiences; a native iPad app that is fast, incredibly usable, beautiful, and that uses locally cached data for users in the field, and a web app that has all of the features of the iPad app and more – optimized for users in the office or those using traditional PCs.

Since 2004, Hudson Alley Software has been the undisputed leader in lottery sales force software. Currently, 15 lottery jurisdictions use its software to help sales reps make the most out of each visit by providing actionable information about each retailer. Hudson Alley’s solutions have helped its customers to increase sales, improve retailer service, and to increase the amount of time lottery sales reps spend in the field by as much as 22%.

Powerball officially came to the California Lottery April 8th, 2013. Check out their new creative commercial that introduces Powerball (quite literally) to the state of California.

Hoosier Lottery has introduced a new family of scratch-offs called “Cash for Life.” Much like the name implies, players have the chance to collect winnings their whole life. “The Cash For Life games are unique because the top prize offers winners the opportunity to receive payments for the rest of their lives,” said Jessica Powell, Vice President of Marketing for the Hoosier Lottery. “With Cash for Life, the longer a winner lives, the more the Hoosier Lottery gives.”

The scratchers are priced at $1, $2, $5 or $10, giving players a chance to win up to $500 a week for life to $5,000 a week for life. This new family of scratch-offs will become a staple for the lottery. Read more about the scratch-offs here.

I’m happy to announce that effective immediately, we’ve officially changed the name of our company to Hudson Alley Software, Inc.

Don’t worry.

This is nothing more than a change to the company name. It’s still the same company, the same people, the same mission, now offering more products under a new name. Our ownership, corporate structure, and legal agreements remain unchanged.

Why the change?

We began serving the lottery industry in 2004 with one product, and that product was OrderPad. When we spun-off from Cole Systems in 2008, we chose OrderPad Software, Inc. as the name of our new company. We had spent the previous four years building brand awareness around the name OrderPad and wanted to leverage it as much as possible. We now have multiple products including OrderPad, OnePlace, and Engage which will improve the way that lotteries execute retailer promotions (which will be shipping soon – stay tuned for details). We changed the name to better reflect our future as a multi-product company.

Why the name Hudson Alley Software?

Since OrderPad began, we have been headquartered in New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood, which is an area of the city that is referred to as Silicon Alley because of the number of technology startups; Silicon Alley is New York City’s  answer to Silicon Valley. The name Hudson Alley combines our passion for technology with our New York City roots.

Why now?

We felt the timing was right because we’re releasing new products, adding new customers, and we feel that people in the industry are excited about the things we’re working on. We are also expanding our team with additional support team members and software engineers. If we were were going to change the name of the company, we felt that the time to do so is when the wind is at our backs.
